I spent the past weekend in Seattle. As such, I enjoyed what the city had to offer: Emmaline McGraw and an art scene. Friday night was spent at the Vera Project(meh, I really do miss the old spot, I mean, they're trying so hard to capture something; grit, street cred, authenticity? I don't know, but it feels very contrived and very city/famliy friendly), watching TacocaT and the Moondoggies, among others. The Moondoggies are a pretty solid local band with a couple really catchy indie rock/folk/country songs.

On Saturday I finished readin
g Steinbeck's East of Eden. I really enjoyed it and it would venture to call it Steinbeck's best. His characters are so well developed and their inner struggles, if not a little overwrought, are brilliant.
Conversely, Saturday night was a ridiculous Ukrainian party that Emma's roommate put on. I'm sure some Gray Goose soaked pictures are soon to surface on Facebook. Yikez.

Today I went to the Henry Art Gallery on the UW campus. I think it is my favorite gallery in the entire city, they consistently have the best work by interesting artists, and its free for student
s! I saw this really interesting installation by William Kentridge, that played with visual perception, the human form, and a lot more.
